SURAT: A 23-year-old tuition teacher from Surat who had allegedly eloped with her 13-year-old student last month moved court on Friday seeking permission to abort her pregnancy. The woman's post-arrest medical examination had found her 20 weeks pregnant. Cops were yet to ascertain who the father was, even as a sample from the fetus was obtained for DNA testing.
The woman was initially booked at Punagam police station after she disappeared with her student on April 25. She was arrested under the Pocso Act on March 30 near the Gujarat-Rajasthan border.
Investigation revealed that the woman had allegedly engaged in physical relations with the student at her home and other places.
