Jodhpur: First batch of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants despatched for West Bengal from Jodhpur airport on Wednesday by a special flight. The batch comprised 148 immigrants from Jaipur region identified by the intelligence agencies in past few days.
All these infiltrators were taken t Jodhpur in police uses from Jaipur amid tight police security and were taken straight into the airport complex with senior police officials present in order to coordinate the exercise.
When contacted for information, the ASP (Intelligence) at Jodhpur Narpat Singh Rathore refused to comment stating that the entire deportation exercise was being monitored and operated by officials at Jaipur. According to sources, these immigrants will be kept under detention in West Bengal and following further proceedings, will be deported to Bangladesh by the BSF.
"These infiltrators had been kept at one f the two detention centers set up in Jaipur. In the first phase of their deportation, 148 have been sent to Jodhpur and despatched for West Beng for final deportation", said a source stating that this was a beginning of deportation of these illegal immigrants and this exercise would continue until all of them are identified and deported.
According to information, 1008 infiltrators have been detained in the exercise so far from 17 districts of the state. tnn
