Tom Grennan delights fans with surprise appearance in local supermarket

This is the moment Tom Grennan surprised fans at a blind taste test at a local Tesco in his hometown. Customers at the store in Bedford were invited to sample different flavours of popchips while blindfolded, but after removing their blindfolds they were shocked to find themselves face-to-face with their favourite pop star and locally-born celeb, 29-year-old Tom Grennan.

The Brit Awards nominated star had swapped places with a member of staff while the shoppers tried out the "better-for-you" snack. Following the reveal, Tom presented lucky shoppers with VIP tickets to an exclusive gig which will take place later this month.

Liz Sullivan, 46, from Bedford, was overjoyed to recognise the voice of one of her favourite singers. She said: "OMG, I know whose voice that is - this is the most ridiculous day."

Lucas Johnston,18, from Oxfordshire, instantly recognised his idol and greeted him with a warm, "How are you, boss?"

The star, now based in London, was brought up in Bedford. Talking about his return to his hometown he said: "Coming back to my hometown, where it all started for me, and pulling off this surprise for my fans was so special.nI've got so many fond memories here."

His fourth album 'Everywhere I Went, Led Me to Where I Didn't Want to Be' is set to be released on the 15th August.

He added: "Teaming up with popchips to give back a little joy to the people who have supported me from day one was amazing."

His UK and Ireland tour kicks off on the 3rd of September at the BIC in Bournemouth. Further dates that month include Birmingham's Utilita Arena on the 4th, London's The O2 on 6th, Cardiff's Utilita Arena on the 9th, and Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena on the 10th.

He'll also be heading to Glasgow's OVO Hydro on the 11th, the 3Arena in Dublin on the 13th, the P&J Arena in Aberdeen on the 15th, and Newcastle's Utilita Arena on the 16th.

Before wrapping up the tour at First Direct Arena in Leeds on the 18th and Manchester's Co-op Live on the 19th.
