The iconic town secured the top spot with a relocation score of 98.83, outperforming Yorkshire's Whitby in second place (97.60) thanks to its 1,846 annual sunlight hours and moderate rainfall (612.64mm).
Brits are also attracted to Margate's affordability and is considered a relatively affordable seaside town to buy a home in the UK, with properties averaging around 26% cheaper than the average across Kent.

Margate is a very connected seaside resort - which may be why so many people have relocated to the town in recent years. The high-speed train from London St Pancras takes just one hour and 20 minutes on average.
