darts ace has revealed he's currently "taking tablets" after a recent health scare. The former world champion revealed earlier this month that he "wasn't feeling great" and pulled out of events as a result.
Cross has since returned to the oche, but the 34-year-old admitted he still isn't feeling 100 per cent while competing at the German Darts Grand Prix this weekend. He was knocked out in the round of 16 by Krzysztof Ratajski, but prior to his exit, Cross opened up about his health battle.
Speaking in an interview with , Cross said: "I feel much better now, two weeks ago I wasn't good but that's just life. We get sickness, problems. I've been very grateful that it's been a quick fix. I'm on some tablets at the minute and they're making me feel much better. So very grateful to come out in these great places and still perform."
Earlier this month, : "Sorry to say I've had to pull out of the next few events due to not feeling great. I apologise to the fans and PDC Europe as I always love playing in Germany. Hopefully I'll be back soon."
It comes ahead of night 12 of the Premier League, with the players set to descend on Liverpool. It's one of five remaining opportunities for players to score points in this year's competition, with Voltage still in the mix for a playoff spot.
The 34-year-old sits seventh in the standings, but is one of five players separated by just five points in the playoff hunt. Nathan Aspinall, who reached last week's semi-final in Rotterdam, is third with 17 points, while Gerwyn Price occupies the final playoff spot in fourth on 15 points.
Away from Cross' health status, one of the biggest talking points from the European Tour event was the recent examples of misbehaviour from members of the crowd. Since the turn of the year, several events have been marred by jeers and whistles from the crowd, with Raymond van Barneveld blaming it on fans who "like a drink and a bet".
However, Cross claimed he isn't too fussed by the attempts of fans to put him off his stride. He added: "I enjoy it. Sometimes I can enter stages and be a bit too relaxed. Sometimes you need that spring in your step. You need something to wake you up and get the adrenaline out."
Cross will face basement dweller and hometown hero Stephen Bunting in the opening match of Thursday's Premier League in Liverpool on Thursday.
