Coronation Street's Lisa Swain (played by Vicky Myers) is set to be hugely betrayed by her girlfriend Carla Barlow (Alison King) in upcoming scenes on the long-running ITV soap. Lisa is continuing to struggle to cope after learning there may have been more to her wife Becky's death than it first appeared. These feelings are compounded by what would have been their anniversary.
The recent murder of PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) triggered this suppressed trauma, and the fact that she is not herself doesn't go unnoticed by either Carla or her daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin). Although they both voice their concerns as she insists she is fine. It is clear she isn't when she books a therapy session in which she finally opens up about what has been bothering her. She confesses she wonders if there was more to Becky's death than meets the eye and ponders whether her wife could have been corrupt.
However, while Lisa is baring her soul, Carla is committing the ultimate betrayal by visiting the man who killed her, Logan Radcliffe (Harry Lowbridge), in jail in the hope of getting some answers.
Meanwhile, Lisa resolves to do some digging of her own. Risking her job, she sneaks into DI Costello's office and searches his email for any reference to Becky Swain.
She is stunned to discover her colleague Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) has also been seeking access to the files.
Furious at his clandestine attempt to investigate Becky, she tackles him, and their already fractious relationship becomes even more strained.
Although Carla struggles to hide her guilt about visiting Logan, she doesn't disclose it to Lisa because she is worried about how she will react.
She may be forced to change her mind, though, as Lisa vents about Kit's activities.
Still furious with him, she rants to Carla that she can no longer work with him after he went behind her back.
Realising how upset she is by Kit's betrayal, will Carla come clean and confess she has been doing her own investigating?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV and ITVX at 8pm.
