Basic blood tests to check haemoglobin, vitamin B12, and iron levels can help identify issues early. Regular gynaecological exams and screenings for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are also essential.

Health Checks In Your 30s: Monitor Hormones and Metabolic HealthBalancing multiple roles, home, and career becomes central for most women in their 30s.
Mr. Kasara advises, “For women over 30 years of age, the need for further screening tests for blood pressure, cholesterol, and hormonal levels is becoming more critical.”
Routine checks for thyroid function, lipid profile, and fasting blood sugar are crucial in 30s. These tests can help identify early signs of diabetes, hypertension, or metabolic syndrome. Those with hereditary issues should prioritise these more.
This is also the right time to talk to your doctor about reproductive health and fertility, whether you’re planning a pregnancy or not. Regular pap smears and pelvic exams are key to detecting cervical problems early on.
Health Checks In Your 40s: Prioritise Preventive ScreeningsOne's 40s are a new era, marked by hormonal fluctuations, perimenopause, and bone density changes.
Mr. Kasara explains, “In their 40s, bone mineral content measurement, cardiovascular check-up, and cancer screening in the form of mammogram and cervical smear tests become essential.”
These help prevent diseases like osteoporosis, especially if there’s a family history or early signs of bone loss. Mammograms and cervical screenings are critical for detecting breast and cervical cancers in their earliest stages, when treatment outcomes are most favourable.
