Google Lets Users Share AI Tools With Friends and Family via Gemini AI

Send Push

Google has introduced a new sharing feature on its Gemini AI platform, allowing users to share their custom AI assistants, called “Gems,” with friends, relatives, or colleagues. The feature works similarly to Google Drive, making collaboration and sharing easier than ever.

How Gemini AI Gems Sharing Works

With this update, users can share their custom Gems directly from the Gem Manager. Simply select the “Share” option next to your Gem. You also get control over who can view, use, or edit your AI assistant.

The main advantage is that instead of multiple people creating separate assistants, everyone can work from a single shared Gem, improving collaboration and consistency.

Benefits of Sharing Gems
  • Team Collaboration: Teams can work together on a single AI assistant instead of designing multiple versions.

  • Family Assistance: Families can rely on one Gem for tasks like planning vacations or managing repeated tasks.

  • Efficiency: A shared Gem ensures that instructions and responses are consistent for everyone.

How to Create and Share a Gem
  • Go to the Google Gemini website and log in with your Google account.

  • Open Gem Manager and click “Create New Gem.”

  • Name your Gem and provide instructions for it.

  • Click Save and test how your Gem responds to prompts.

  • Use the Share option to allow others to access it.

  • What is Gemini AI?

Launched last year as Gemini Advanced, the platform allows users to create custom AI assistants for brainstorming, writing, coding, career advice, and more. Initially limited to advanced subscribers, Gemini AI is now open to all users since March, including the ability to upload files for better personalization. The platform also supports fun trends, such as the recently popular banana trend.
