Speaking at the ITV Reality event last month, the presenter explained: "It was a no brainer. We wanted one last series but you know what it's like with these things.

"I think as viewers people kind of forget how much goes into finding couples. It's a very specific thing they're looking for.

"You're looking for couples with real history, a real relationship with issues there and they're willing to bring them to camera. There's so many layers to that."

She continued: "It wasn't an intent discussion not to have one in series one, we just didn't find a couple that fitted what we needed for the show.

"This series there was a couple that made sense and they wanted to share their story with us and they're amazing."

Opening up on whether a spin-off could be on the cards, Olivia said: "I'm open to it. I've been a bad girlfriend, I would have been the star of Bad Girlfriends. I could be on Bad Wives."

Bayley was crowned the winner of the first series after being tricked into competing for the title of "most-improved boyfriend" by Anya.

Olivia says the cast are "naughtier" this time around and admitted that she struggles staying neutral.

The Loose Women star said: "It's really hard and I walk that fine line everyday during this series. I don't want it to feel like I'm ever condoning any kind of behaviour that's not expectable.

"Also, these are adult people in their own relationships and I'm not there to play God and tell people what they should and shouldn't tolerate.

"I have my feelings about people in the show at various points and I kind of let that be known, but I also have a huge amount of respect for every single person in the process and I feel a huge amount of protectiveness over them.

"I have also been contributor myself on a reality TV show, more than once, so I can feel it from all the different angles."

Olivia Attwood's Bad Boyfriends starts Sunday, September 14 at 10pm on ITV2 and ITVX
