Love Island's Emma Munro has admitted that she is struggling to watch the show now that Harry Cooksley is coupled up with Shakira Khan.
The hydrogeologist, 30, was iconically introduced to the villa as the ex-girlfriend of footballer Harry, also 30, on this year's edition of the ITV2 dating show, and she revealed all about their history to co-stars. The series is just days away from the final but she was brutally dumped alongside Boris Vidovic more than a week ago. Now that Harry is coupled up with Shakira Khan, having been part of a love triangle with Helena Ford, Emma has opened up on her worries about what the game will do to people.
During a pre-recorded chat aired on Wednesday's Good Morning Britain, she explained: "It's really hard to watch because from what I've been saying from the start is that people are gonna get very hurt in this. I guess it was an 'I told you so' moment. I'm not smug about it at all, it was the right message but it was coming from the wrong messenger."
Insisting that she is still a supporter of Shakira but also that she still 'cares' about her ex-boyfriend more than anyone else currently in the competition, she added: "I get that there's a lot of Shakira fans, I'm one of them myself. I'm not here just to bash Harry, I care about him more than anyone does in that villa."
Shakira initially dated Harry early on in the series before he coupled up with Helena, but now that he has gone back to where he started, Emma admitted that she just desperately hopes that he does not 'hurt' his new girlfriend or that he treats her the way he treated his former flames.

She added: "I can get why she's sucked back in, I've been there, I've done that and I've got many T-shirts. I just hope and pray that he doesn't hurt her in the way that he hurt me and he has obviously Helena."
Just before finishing the interview, Emma was grilled on just who she would like to win the entire series. Whichever couple is voted the public's favourite will be able to claim the £50,000 prize, and Emma immediately said: "Angel and Ty are two of the most genuine people so my money would be on them."
But Emma also has a soft spot for Yasmin Pettet, who is currently eding towards the grand finale with Jamie Rhodes, although if she had her way she'd like the banking executive to claim the five-figure sum all for herself. She said: "If not them, Yas. She's now a lover girl and she was always really, really nice to me when no one else was so she deserves to win just alone!"
After days of Harry and Helena, he finally recoupled with Shakira towards the end of last week before he admitted it was 'not an easy' thing to do as they had an intimate chat in the dressing room. Unpacking the recoupling, Harry told Shakira: "That was not easy. Not in terms of who I was going to pick, but just both of you [Shakira and Helena] being stood up there." Shakira replied: "I can’t believe we’re back at day two, right back to where we started. Further back if that’s even possible. This is no good."
The pair both vowed that they would take 'baby steps' in going forward so that they could get used to the situation, and enjoyed a cuddle together. But as Harry leaned in for a kiss, Shakira turned to give him her cheek. At home, his football Farnham Town club left fans outraged when they asked his pals back in the UK which woman he is better suited to. Farnham posted the results on TikTok and despite later deleting the clip, there was outrage at some of the replies from the footballers and coaches after it surfaced again.
One player said: "He wants either Beyonce, or he wants Bonnie Blue" before saying Helena "would be good in bed" and offering more grim guidance. Another spoke to the camera and said: "He thinks Shakira is girlfriend material, but really, really, really wants to have sex with Helena."
Even manager Paul Johnson waded in, saying: "Bin off Shakira, 100 per cent. She's a drip, nosey b***h." The comments kept on coming and a squad member went on: "Get rid of Shakira, she is as annoying as f**k" as another simply added: "I don't care, just get him back here and get him running."
The clip found its way onto X and was slammed by many online. One wrote on the social media platform: "First time seeing this & I'm horrified, but not surprised! I have a 25yr old son who wouldn't dream of speaking like this about women. Who dragged up these cretins?!"
Another said: "Hate it. disgusting. a sickness on society. where's antiseptic for my eyes?!" A third commented: "And people wonder why Harry acts like he does." On TikTok, someone else told the club they need to offer "serious education" for the "absolute buffoons". MirrorOnline have approached Farnham Town for comment.
