A new song debuted by Jennifer Lopez this week is said to reference her split from Ben Affleck. The track was performed by the singer-songwriter at an event recently.
Jennifer, now 55, filed for divorce from Ben, now 52, last year, after she married the actor in 2022. The exes, who rekindled their romance a year prior to the nuptials, had previously been engaged to each other back in 2002, but had ended up separating for the first time in 2004.
Her split from Ben is now said to have inspired new music. Jennifer, also known as J.Lo, has written songs about him before, with their reconciliation said to have influenced her most recent album, This Is Me... Now, released last year.
Ahead of her upcoming tour, Jennifer invited 30 fans based in Los Angeles to a listening party on Wednesday, as reported by Us Weekly. She's said to have debuted six new songs at the event, including Wreckage of You.
A source teased to the outlet that the ballad explores her latest break-up from Ben. Speaking about the song, they said: "[It's a] very emotional, empowering song about walking away from a relationship and coming out a stronger person."
According to attendee Edgardo Luis Rivera, Jennifer told her fans that she co-wrote and recorded it two weeks ago. He said: "She mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her both personally and professionally."
He said that included cancelling her tour and focusing on herself. Edgardo added that a year later she now feels "better" and "stronger than ever," with her wanting to write about coming out stronger from a "bad situation".
Edgardo said the MTV Video Music Awards winner had thought of the word 'wreck' "because it means destruction, but she wasn't destroyed". He said that the lyrics include: "I'm stronger after the wreckage of you."
Jennifer is said to have also performed five upbeat tracks at the listening party. The songs - titled Up All Night, Regular, Free, Save Me Tonight and Birthday - have been described as "really good" and having a "real vibe" by one source.

Edgardo, however, said she admitted to her guests that she wasn't sure yet how or if she will release them. They are however all expected to be included on the setlist for her international tour Up All Night, which opens this month.
The tour launches in Spain next week, before visiting venues in countries such as Italy, Turkeyand the United Arab Emirates over the course of the coming weeks. It's currently scheduled to conclude in Kazakhstan next month.
Upon her return to the US, Jennifer will begin a residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas shortly before the New Year. She will perform at the venue on December 30 and 31, as well as January 2 and 3. Jennifer will then return for an additional eight shows in March next year.
