Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid abruptly interrupted the programme to share the heartbreaking news of former cabinet minister Norman Tebbit's passing at the age of 94.
During Tuesday's (July 8) episode of the popular ITV show, alongside co-host Richard Madeley, she announced the death of Lord Tebbit, a staunch supporter of Margaret Thatcher during her tenure.
She informed: "Breaking news this morning Lord Norman Tebbit, one of Margaret Thatcher's most loyal supporters has died at the age on 94."

Susanna continued: "He was one of the high-profile victims of the bombing of the Grand Hotel in Brighton back in 1984, he was Conservative Party chairman and he famously said about his father, that he got on his bike and looked for work."
In an official statement, Lord Tebbit's son William declared: "At 11.15pm on 7th July 2025 Lord Tebbit died peacefully at home aged 94.", reports the Manchester Evening News.
"His family ask that their privacy is respected at this time and a further statement regarding funeral arrangements will be made in due course."
Lord Tebbit held prominent positions in the Conservative cabinet in the 1980s, serving as employment secretary and party chairman.
As employment secretary, he confronted the trade unions, and as chairman of the Conservative Party from 1985 to 1987, he assisted Mrs Thatcher in securing her third general election victory.
He sustained severe injuries in the 1984 Brighton bombing, which left his wife, Margaret, paralysed from the neck down.

Shadow Secretary of State for Business and Trade Andrew Griffiths honoured Lord Tebbit on X, expressing his condolences.
He penned: "Sad to learn of the death of Lord Tebbit, a great Conservative whose values Britain could use a great deal more of today."
Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch reflected on Norman Tebbit's impact, stating he "was an icon in British politics and his death will cause sadness across the political spectrum".
Former Tory minister Nadhim Zahawi also shared his thoughts on X, previously known as Twitter, writing: "Rest in eternal peace great man. Norman Tebbit was a giant of Conservative politics and Conservative ideals.
"A man who looked after his beloved wife beautifully after the horrific terror attack by the IRA. A man who nurtured and befriended young conservatives like me. He was great company on a weekend in the country. RIP."
