In 2023, HERBELIN celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Newport collection with a limited-edition automatic chronograph. Widely acclaimed by watch enthusiasts, this anniversary piece has inspired the creation of a new line: the Newport Chronograph Heritage.
AN EMBLEMATIC DESIGN, A TIMELESS STYLE
Faithful to the aesthetic of the original 1988 model, this timepiece retains the signature codes of the collection: a cylindrical case, central lugs, a porthole-style bezel in engraved ceramic with a tachymeter scale, screws inspired by sailboat winches, and a marine wheel motif on the crown.
Its dial, protected by an anti- reflective sapphire glassbox, captivates with an intense brushed black finish, enhanced by a black flange punctuated with white markers. It perfectly balances readability and refinement, offering a harmonious blend of elegance and functionality.
The azurage-finished black sub- dials create depth, while beveled luminescent hour markers and an ultra-precise minute track on the flange reinforce its technical character. The “30-minute” counter at 3 o’clock and the “small seconds” counter at 9 o’clock, combined with the tachymeter scale, allow for speed measurements ranging from 60 to 400 km/h. A central chronograph seconds hand and a date window at 6 o’clock complete this sophisticated design.
EXCEPTIONAL MECHANICS
Designed, assembled, and regulated in France at HERBELIN’s Jura Mountain workshops, the Newport Chronograph Heritage is powered by a Swiss-made self- winding mechanical movement, precisely adjusted by the brand’s master watchmakers. Reliable and precise, it boasts a 62-hour power reserve, visible through a transparent case back adorned with a HERBELIN-engraved oscillating weight.
This chronograph, a subtle alliance of sportiness and elegance, showcases over 75 years of horological expertise. Its classic leather strap enhances its timeless appeal, making it the perfect companion for every moment of the day.

Since 2020, HERBELIN has been managed by four partners united by a shared vision: Maxime and Mathieu Herbelin, grandsons of the founder, along with Cédric Gomez- Montiel and Benjamin Theurillat. Together, they perpetuate Michel Herbelin’s visionary spirit, reinforcing the brand’s independence and dynamism.
The opening of the Parisian flagship store in 2022, at 58 rue Bonaparte in the heart of Saint-Germain-des- Prés district, marked the beginning of a new era. More than just a boutique, this emblematic location invites visitors to discover the HERBELIN universe, where each watch tells a story—one of timeless craftsmanship and a passion passed down through generations. A timeless signature, a single name: HERBELIN.
