Public toilet facilities at Thane Railway Station were vandalized by anti-social elements during the night of 23rd May 2025. Toilets across multiple platforms were found severely damaged and choked, causing significant inconvenience to passengers and resulting in damage to railway property.
According to CR, affected toilet locations include the toilet on Platform number 1 at the Kalyan end, which is broken and choked. The toilet on Platform number 2, located in the middle section, is also broken and choked, and the toilet at the Kalyan end of Platform number 2 is also broken. Additionally, the toilet on Platform number 10 A in the middle section, as well as another toilet located on Platform number 10 A, are broken and choked.

"Restoration work is underway, and the damaged public toilets are being repaired/replaced. The facilities will be restored for public use at the earliest" said an official.
"Central Railway appeals to all passengers and members of the public to refrain from such acts of vandalism and help safeguard railway property. If anyone knows the culprits, may kindly inform the railway authority/RPF at Thane" further added official.
