Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday and reiterated India’s call for de-escalation.
PM Modi confirmed the development in a post on X, stating: “Spoke with the President of Iran @drpezeshkian. We discussed the current situation in detail. Expressed deep concern at the recent escalations. Reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy as the way forward, as well as for the early restoration of regional peace, security, and stability.”
The conversation between Prime Minister Modi and Iran’s President came hours after the US carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan earlier on Sunday.

He also warned against any retaliation, stating “Remember, there are many targets left.”

US Drops Never-Before-Used GBU-57 Bunker Busters On Iran’s Fordow Nuclear Site: ReportSatellite photographs captured on Sunday and examined by The Associated Press reveal impact on the mountainside at Iran's subterranean nuclear facility at Fordo following American air strikes on the installation.
The imagery from Planet Labs PBC shows that sections of the previously brown-coloured mountain have been turned grey and its outline appears somewhat altered compared to earlier photographs, indicating that an explosion scattered debris throughout the area.
This points to the deployment of specialised American bunker-buster munitions against the facility. Pale grey smoke could also be observed lingering in the atmosphere.
Iran has not yet provided a damage evaluation of the location. Additional satellite photographs suggest Iran had blocked its tunnel openings at Fordo prior to the strike.
