The 20th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme is likely to be credited to farmer's accounts in June 2025. Under this scheme, eligible farmers are expected to get Rs 2,000 each. However, no official announcement has been made so far regarding the exact date.
Farmers with cultivable land in their names qualify for the scheme. However, some categories are excluded:
Institutional landowners: Land owned by trusts or institutions is ineligible.
Government employees: State and central government employees, except Class 4 and multi-tasking staff, do not qualify.
Professionals: Registered doctors, engineers, chartered accountants, and lawyers are excluded.
Taxpayers: Farmers who paid income tax in the last assessment year cannot receive benefits.
PM-KISAN or the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is a central government scheme. It provides income support of 6,000 per year to eligible farmers. The amount is paid in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each.
The scheme aims to help farmers cover small expenses and boost their income. It directly transfers funds into the bank accounts of beneficiaries. Farmers can check their instalment status on the official PM-KISAN portal. They should ensure their bank and Aadhaar details are updated to avoid delays.
The last payment-- the 19th instalment-- was released on February 24,2025. It benefitted over 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.4 crore women farmers. Earlier, the 18th instalment came in October 2024, while the 17th was paid in June 2024.
