Navi Mumbai: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Saturday reaffirmed the Maharashtra government’s commitment to improving healthcare and educational infrastructure in Raigad district. He was speaking at the naming and inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Smt. Geeta Dattatray Tatkare College of Nursing in Mangaon, established by the Mangaon Shikshan Prasarak Mandal.

Addressing the gathering, Pawar expressed satisfaction at the establishment of a state-of-the-art nursing college in Mangaon, which he described as a significant step towards making quality education accessible to both urban and rural students of the region. He noted that the college has been named after the mother of MP Sunil Tatkare and said it should live up to her legacy through meaningful contribution to society.
The event was attended by Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare, MP Sunil Tatkare, former MLA Aniket Tatkare, and the President of the educational trust, Adv. Rajeev Sable, among others. Local citizens, college faculty, and a large number of students were also present.

With rapid industrialization taking place in the district, there is a growing need for skilled local manpower, and institutions like this nursing college will play a crucial role in bridging that gap. He added that the state government will provide necessary funding to further strengthen education and healthcare facilities in the district.
Earlier, Adv. Rajeev Sable gave the welcome address on behalf of the Mangaon Shikshan Prasarak Mandal.
