Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A priest was booked for allegedly sexually molesting two minor girls in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur on Saturday. The accused invited the girls in the room on the pretext of giving them prasad. He closed the door and allegedly raped the girls.
He has been booked under the POCSO Act. The incident happened in a village under the Gadhimalhara police station in Chhatarpur.
According to information, the two victims are aged 5 and 6 years, and they are cousins. The accused, identified as Charandas, has been living in the village for the past 4 years. He looks after Lord Shiva's temple Mahakal Ashram, which is currently under construction.

The victim's family said that both the girls were playing on Friday night. The priest of Mahakal Ashram Charandas, a resident of Ujra, lured them to his room on the pretext of the temple's prasad. The little girls agreed and followed him. As the girls entered the room, he locked the door and sexually molested them.
The villagers complained that this is the third such incident where the priest has molested girls. Earlier, they spared him giving warnings, but in vain.
Ghari Milega Police Station Incharge Rita Singh said that a case has been registered in this case under the POCSO Act, which is being investigated. The priest has been detained for questioning.
