CJI Bhushan Gavai Urges Judges To Stay Connected With Society For Effective Justice

Chief Justice of India (CJI) Bhushan Gawai on Thursday said that judges should connect with society and understand its problems, which would make the process of administering justice easier and more effective.

The Advocates Association of Bombay High Court at Aurangabad Division Bench felicitated CJI Gawai in a function organised at Rukhmini Hall, MGM University on Thursday evening.

Supreme Court Judge Suryakant, Justice Dipankar Datta, Justice Prasanna B Varale, Justice A S Chandurkar, Bombay High Court Justice Ravindra Ghuge, Justice Nitin Samre, Justice V V Kankanwadi, Additional Solicitor General of India Anil Singh, state’s Solicitor General Amarjeetsingh Girase, State Bar Council chairman Vitthal Konde Deshmukh, association president Adv Avinash Borulkar, secretary Adv Ravindra Gore and other dignitaries were present.

CJI Gawai was felicitated by giving a citation and a sapling. The logo of the Legal Literary Meet was inaugurated on the occasion.

CJI Gawai said that he became a lawyer due to the insistence of his father and later became a judge. The thoughts of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, which provided social, economic, and political equality in the country, nurtured him. He administers justice as per the principles of social justice prescribed in the Constitution of the country. CJI Gawai narrated several memories during his stay in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Adv Avinash Borulkar made an introductory speech. Adv Shrikant Kawade, Adv Shilpa Avchar, Adv Ravindra Gore, Adv Sharad Shinde, Adv Sushmita Daund, Adv Ram Thorat, Adv Baliram Shinde, Adv Vishveshwar Pathade, Adv Akshara Madke, Adv Nasimbanu Deshmukh and others were present.
