Hariyali Amavasya 2025: The new moon date of Krishna Paksha of Shravan month is celebrated every year as Hariyali Amavasya. On this date, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are specially worshiped. According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Amavasya is celebrated every month. The Amavasya date falling in the month of Shravan has special significance. Amavasya date is dedicated to the ancestors. On this day, the soul of the ancestors gets peace by bathing in the Ganges, charity, virtue, and chanting. There is also a law to worship Shanidev on Hariyali Amavasya. On this day, some remedies prove to be very effective to remove the defects related to Saturn in the horoscope and to reduce the problems in life. This time, very rare yogas are going to be formed on Hariyali Amavasya.

According to the Hindu calendar, the Amavasya date of Shravan month will start on 24 July 2025 at 02:28 am and this date will end on 25 July 2025 at 12:40 pm. According to the Uday date, the festival of Hariyali Amavasya is on 24 July.

On July 24, Guru-Pushya Nakshatra and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will be formed on Hariyali Amavasya. Brahma Shubh Muhurta on Hariyali Amavasya will be from 4:15 am to 4:57 am. Abhijeet Muhurta will run from 2:26 pm to 3:58 pm. Amrit Kaal will be from 2:26 pm to 3:58 pm.

The religious significance of Hariyali Amavasya is described in many Puranas and scriptures. This day is considered to be the best time to worship Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. Offering Belpatra, Dhatura, and other worship materials on Shivling on this day gives special fruits. It is believed that fasting and worshiping on this day liberates one from all kinds of sins, and there is happiness and prosperity in life. According to Narada Purana, doing auspicious works like Pitra Shradh, donation, homa, Dev Puja, and tree plantation on the Amavasya of Shravan month gives Akshaya fruit.

Hariyali Amavasya Puja Method
Take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes and clean the place of worship and install Shivling or the idol of Lord Shiva there. Take water in your hand and take a pledge of fasting and worship. Sit on a seat in front of Lord Shiva and meditate and pray. While chanting Shiva Mantras, perform Abhishek of Shivling with water and Gangajal. Bathe Shivling with Panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar) and again perform Abhishek with pure water. After this, offer sandalwood, rice, and flowers on Shivling. Offer Belpatra and Dhatura to Lord Shiva. Perform Aarti of Lord Shiva by lighting incense and lamps. After Aarti, offer fruits and sweets to Lord Shiva. Chant the mantra 'Om Namah Shivaya'. According to Shiva Purana, chanting this mantra relieves one from all troubles and receives blessings of Lord Shiva.
