Thomas Frank has made two changes for the Tottenham team he believes can overcome Villarreal on the club's return to the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
Spurs enter the game in high spirits after a 3-0 derby victory at West Ham United and welcome the La Liga visitors ahead of a trip to Brighton on Saturday afternoon as the Premier League continues. That means Frank will need to continue to rotate his squad across three games in a week, with the month ahead bringing more of the same until the next international break.
Bentancur and Richarlison both come in to start against Villarreal with Joao Palhinha and Mathys Tel coming out of the starting line-up. Lucas Bergvallstarts again after his goal and assist, as does Pape Matar Sarr who also scored and impressed and Joao Palhinha provides an important defensive shield to the backline but also could need a rest after plenty of football following a long period without it.

Here's the team Frank has selected to face Villarreal:
Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Bentancur, Bergvall; Kudus, Sarr, Xavi; Richarlison. Subs: Kinsky, Austin, Danso, Palhinha, Udogie, Gray, Johnson, Odobert, Davies, Kolo Muani, Scarlett, Byfield.
